Well, I finally broke down and selected flooring, dismantled all but one workstation in my office and peeked under to carpet to see what I'm in for.
I've got to get the copy machine, conference table, printers and other computer station dismantled and pull up the "glued down" carpet, scrape the floor and lay the new floor.
The space is a 17 x 32.5 walkout basement. I'm thinking that I'll move the office upstairs and make this area a den. If I make the basement a den, I'd like to divide it into three areas - a family area and an area for my little one to play video games and hang out. Right now, he has all of his "stuff" in his room, but I'd prefer he spend less time in his bedroom. I'm also going to place a small table and chairs for crafts and games, and his desk in the area.
Any great decorators out there with suggestions on how to separate the various spaces while keeping the spaces open? Would you divide it with storage and counters or simply designate each area using area rugs?
I'm open for suggestions - plus sitting here gives me a break from moving furniture and scraping floors!

Got walls! Some of them are even painted!
The walls look good - I on the other hand look a little ragged.
