Any thoughts on this subject? If you have children in public schools, do you want the Feds determining what and how they will be taught or do you prefer the school administration to be accountable to the community it serves?
Discuss the issue from the standpoint of constitutionality, quality of education, community values and any other angle that is applicable to what you want your children taught and who you want determining how the information is presented.

I think it's time we started raising the standards of our education system. Right now, you have to teach to the "stupidist" person. Education has dumbed down everything so little Johnny or Jill won't get their little feelings hurt. WAAAA! If the USA truly wants to compete in the world, we have to be above everyone else. That means there will be children left behind. Again, WAAA! It's time for the USA to grow a pair and educate. The same standards should be used in Tennessee as they are in Georgia, or California. So if a child moves from one state to another, they know what to expect and what is expected of them. End the teachers' unions and end Government control. The states can control the content within these specific bounds.
