www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=116998&catid=2I personally get tired of everything being taken back to "race". Would it not make more sense to just call the action rude, and leave race out of it - or is the objective to make the article incendiary? Also, do you think that the goal of "diversity" is in and of itself racist or discriminatory? What if people really do prefer to be around people of one race or another - have they at some point checked their constitutional right to state such? Do we have a constitutional right to live out our lives without having our feelings hurt? Is the banana throwing incident any more racist than a white on black or a black on white crime? Does this incident and the Michelle Obama as a chimp incident deserve the coverage received?

That is exactly what it is supposed to do. "action rude, and leave race out of it - or is the objective to make the article incendiary"?

I was looking over the posts here, and had to laugh when I realized that in the short time we've had this forum watermelons and bananas have both been deemed racial weapons.
What's up for next week? Who can we offend by talking about tomatoes, cantaloupes or strawberries?

I've found a use for the strawberries - not going to waste them trying to offend anyone.
